You Know You're Married to Railroader When...

... when in the middle of the night you find a man lying next to you and you think, "Why is there a strange man in my bed?" And then when you realize it's your husband, you say, "What are YOU doing here?"

I really need to speak to someone about this. My bf works for the railroad as an Engineer and I need advice. Its frustrating already and he wants to marry me. I just want some ideas of how life is for you. I know we are different people but I just want an idea.

My blogging software does not display your email address to me. I'd be happy to get you connected with some railroad wife support groups. Women in those groups could offer a lot of insights, and would be glad to just be there for you if you need to talk. Feel free to email me at: railroadwife at gmail dot com. (I wrote it out longhand so the bots won't get me.) I hope you find the information and support you need.

This post actually made me laugh! I was just visiting my guy for the weekend and he works the railroad. Just to spend time with him I ended up sleeping alot this weekend lol, but we would just basically wait for his call in the middle of the night saying report in 2 hours for work. ugh so not fun lol

This is actually quite funny but true. My bf works for the rr and it has put him 400 miles away, so when he comes back to visit its like the first date all over again.
I have to agree with the other anonymous post in that weve been together almost 3 years, and weve been apart for over a year and a half. Now I am at a point of being able to join him but I have reservations.

Frustrating isn't the word! My husband works for NS Corp. He hired 8 years ago and he went to Engineer school this past February. They put so so much pressure on these guys! My husband is a very unique man. We have basically adjusted to the life of the r/r. But, the school and gone for a month :{ It's like I don't know who this man is who came home. They were crammed with 3 weeks of all types of training....and the 4th week TESTING...INTENSE..HE PASSED ALL TEST GOT TO LAST DAY AND THIS PARTICULAR ONE YOU HAD TO GET A 100 PERCENT...YES 100 IF YOU MISS AS HE DID 1 QUESTION HE GOT A 99...now at our expense he has to fly back for a test and if he doesn't get 100 this time...HE WILL BE FIRED!!!!
